Why UberEats prices are different from in-store prices at Rashmi’s Bakery?

Why are UberEats Prices Higher than In-Store?

UberEats is a fantastic “cake-to-couch” convenience, but that convenience comes with extra layers of cost. Here’s what’s happening behind the scenes:

  1. Third-Party Commissions & Fees - UberEats charges restaurants a commission on every order—often 25 – 30 %—plus customer-facing service fees. We absorb part of that cost, but we still need to adjust our menu prices on the app so we can keep paying our bakers fairly and sourcing premium, allergy-safe ingredients.
  2. Driver Tips & Distance Charges - Tips for couriers—and any distance surcharges—are added at checkout. They don’t come to us, but they do raise your total compared with a simple in-store swipe.
  3. Quality First, Always - We refuse to cut corners on ingredients or portion sizes to offset third-party costs. Instead, we keep our in-store prices steady and adjust only on platforms where the overhead is higher, ensuring every slice still meets our egg-free, nut-free promise.

Want the Best Value?

If you can swing by, you’ll always find the lowest prices—and the biggest selection—at our Brampton or Mississauga shops (or by using UberEats’ Pickup option). Need doorstep delivery fast? UberEats has you covered, cake-safe packaging and all. Either way, you’ll taste the same love in every bite.
